Honestly, it is very difficult to keep kids off drugs especially when they are teenagers in high school and they are exposed to so many negative things. Some things I as a parent would do is first of all inform my kids what drugs are and how they affect the body. Too many times I heard people tell me "drugs are bad" but I always wondered why. Another thing I would do is create a good trustworthy relationship with my kid. Also if parents are supportive of their children it is less likely that the kids will turn to drugs.
I completely agree that its hard to keep kids off drugs, during highschool they think that they can handle anything life throws at them and they approach that in a negative way
ReplyDeleteYes, once they are teenagers they have so many things going on, plus the "it'll never happen to me" attitude. I agree that communication and education are very important to prevent drug use. Being supportive is also crucial, if your child does not feel comfortable talking to you then who knows who they will ask for advice.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree on the impact of drugs on teenagers these days, it is almost inevitable at times.
ReplyDeleteYes ! I agree. It's really important to have a really trustworthy relationship with their children so they feel comfortable to talk to eachother about these things.
